Our post- pandemic babies truly are entering a very different educational landscape than previous generations. Your suggestions for refocusing on literacy skills at home and in school are spot on. I would add a few things to your suggestions.

*recognizing that the landscape for educators has changed as well- fewer people graduating with degrees in education, a nationwide teacher shortage, already over- crowded expectations from districts and amin

*educating families about the dangers and cost of too much screen time - adding in literacy and read aloud time at home is great, but if a significant amount of the time spent at home is still on screens, we will continue to have a generation of children with a lack of focus and limited attention
